Marvel Vs. Capcom is BACK! Plus an old favorite...

Sorry for the long delay, been busy with college and moving in and everything. But as I settle into my high speed Internet and Xbox live I have come to grips with my old favorite fighting game franchise. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2! There is no doubt in my mind that this is the greatest fighting game ever made. I mean not only do you have the regular street fighter characters but you have Capcom characters also like Jill from Resident Evil and Mega Man. But then you have the marvel fighters which are the X-Men and Avengers and Villains. Wolverine, Storm, Ironman, Captain America, Spiderman and more. Everything from the old game is back mostly. Except for the fact that you are actually not playing arcade mode to get points to purchase characters. All the characters are previously unlocked which is kinda not good because you would play the arcade mode over and over again just to unlock Omega Red or Sentinel.

The game only cost 1200 points and is extremely worth it. I mean the game costs over a hundred dollars in stores, if you can find any. One very cool thing about the game is that they brought online mode into the mix. So you can finally play people from all over. But its not like the good ole' days when you were at your local arcade and you had a bunch of people lined up to play with against you. But this game is one of my favorites and worth every point. For my final rating Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network gets 4.5X Points out of 5. The original might still be better because of the extra playing you had to put yourself through but I am still pleased with this games success.

One last thing i wanted to share with you all is that the original Comix Zone is out for Xbox Live arcade also. For only 400 points you can own the game. Now not too many people have played this game but when my friends showed me this game I fell in love with it. I mean the cool combos and action was better than any other genesis game I have played. So if you have some cash or points pick this fun game up. You won't regret it. For this games final rating I give it a 3.5X out of 5X because it was good back in the day and its good now.

InFamous Vs. Prototype

In one corner we have the Playstation exclusive, hailing from Naughty Dog productions is the heavy hitting, electrifying InFamous. In our other corner we have the multiplatform slicing and dicing destroyer, hailing from Activision productions, the one and only Prototype. I chose these two games to have and Xtreme Gaming Zone fight off, telling you if you have the choice, which one of these you should probably pick up. Lets start with InFamous. One of the few PS3 exclusives that actually delivers. I can honestly say that I could not stop playing this game. Unlike Prototype you have a choice on whether you want to become the hero or the villain. I chose to become a hero and it was amazing.


First off, the graphics of the game were pretty sick. Its a giant 3D environment that has building and wires and moving trains and more. It wasn't this gore fest that Prototype delivered. I mean it had its blood but it wasn't anything like Prototype. But you play as the main character Cole. He is a bike messenger and he had to deliver a packaged but it was accidentally a giant bomb and gave him sick powers. Kind of like Static Shock but less sucky and more of a kick butt persona. Your whole adventure is based on finding who did this too you and why. Same as prototype mostly. Revenge and Mystery. You do sick challenges and you learn cool moves and powers. If you think about it there is so much in common between these game.

Prototype is about random guy, Alex Mercer who was infected by some group and is given weird powers. His whole adventure is finding out who did this and why. Real similar folks. So why waste more time when I can take out two birds with one stone. Prototype you gain experience and get sick moves. Slicing, whipping, slashing, riding, smashing and more. The plus about Prototype is the ability to hijack vehicles like tanks and helicopters. But who needs that when your arm can turn into a giant blade? You can also throw cars and huge objects at your enemies too. Pretty insane but feels like a mixture of Hulk meets Resident Evil.

The differences in the games other than powers and whole idea of the games are the presentations. InFamous had cut scenes that were like comic books. No 3D cool scenes like Prototype. But honestly that's the only plus Prototype had over InFamous. I feel like the sickest individual when I crush regular human beings head to take control of there looks and give me health. I feel like Infamous let you be good and bad. When Prototype made you become an evil S.O.B. Some things were just messed up but also interesting. But InFamous had better game play, control scheme, storyline, and pretty much everything. So Prototype gets a score of 3X points out of 5. InFamous gets the score of 4.25X points out of 5. If you have a PS3 go pick InFamous up because I am sure that you will put your Prototype to the side. Gamer Out!

Oh Yeah the Macho....Wait No Macho Man!

Have you ever wanted to face The Ultimate Warrior with The Rock??? Well you can now in Legends of Wrestlemania and thats mostly all you can do. The features a pretty big roster of legends like Bret Hart, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and others. But they miss many other legends that have been in the previous games like Legends of Wrestling. No One Man Gang, not any Van Erichs or even the Macho Man Randy Savage himself who was a huge part of Wrestlemania's over the years and years. No offense to some legends but some shouldn't even be there. No names mentioned but they are missing Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat who was recently in the last Wrestlemania. I know you can't put everyone in.


Second they had three game modes. The Re-Live, Re-Define, and Re-Write. Where you play the same matches in the Re-Live where you do the match and see a little video of what happened and then you play as the winner of the match and have to win to move on. Yeah the movies were cool but the rest of it sucked. The Re-Define was when they changed the match from a regular match to a steel cage or ladder. Yeah thats cool but I can do that in the game whenever I want. Last was the Re-Write and thats when you changed the outcome of the match. Thats was not so bad because the ending cut scene would be changed and it was actually fun.

The last mode was the Legends of Wrestlemania mode where you just face off legends and legends. The same thing over and over again. What this games is just matches and matches that leads you to little satisfaction. But the game features pretty cool cut scenes, a different kind of wrestling configuration and of course a bunch of legends to use in matches. So for my final rating from the Xtreme Gaming Zone is 2.75X Points out of 5X points.
