Oh Yeah the Macho....Wait No Macho Man!

Have you ever wanted to face The Ultimate Warrior with The Rock??? Well you can now in Legends of Wrestlemania and thats mostly all you can do. The features a pretty big roster of legends like Bret Hart, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and others. But they miss many other legends that have been in the previous games like Legends of Wrestling. No One Man Gang, not any Van Erichs or even the Macho Man Randy Savage himself who was a huge part of Wrestlemania's over the years and years. No offense to some legends but some shouldn't even be there. No names mentioned but they are missing Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat who was recently in the last Wrestlemania. I know you can't put everyone in.


Second they had three game modes. The Re-Live, Re-Define, and Re-Write. Where you play the same matches in the Re-Live where you do the match and see a little video of what happened and then you play as the winner of the match and have to win to move on. Yeah the movies were cool but the rest of it sucked. The Re-Define was when they changed the match from a regular match to a steel cage or ladder. Yeah thats cool but I can do that in the game whenever I want. Last was the Re-Write and thats when you changed the outcome of the match. Thats was not so bad because the ending cut scene would be changed and it was actually fun.

The last mode was the Legends of Wrestlemania mode where you just face off legends and legends. The same thing over and over again. What this games is just matches and matches that leads you to little satisfaction. But the game features pretty cool cut scenes, a different kind of wrestling configuration and of course a bunch of legends to use in matches. So for my final rating from the Xtreme Gaming Zone is 2.75X Points out of 5X points.

3 Guitar Hero Games - 1 Review - An Xtreme Gaming Zone First

Its been a very long time since I have posted a new post but I am trying to make a comeback. Its been a long and stressful end of the school year and school for me is over. But my gaming must continue and I have been very busy. Now this review is different from any other review. This is a three game review. The games are Guitar Hero: World Tour, Guitar Hero: Metallica and Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. First off, Guitar Hero: World Tour. I have always been more a rockband kind of guy myself. But when I found out that I can use my Rockband drums on Guitar Hero my world has changed. I have played all three of these games in the matter of two weeks beating most of them and enjoying every second. Guitar Hero: World Tour is very similar to Rockband with the same whole idea of rocking out with your buds or by yourself. But this game featured the create a song mode which I think was very tacky but for those hardcore gamer modifiers there will possibly be some good free songs for us to download. But the whole rocking out feature was very good. The videos and cutscenes just feels better than Rockband. Also the guest appearances were pretty cool. Billy Corgan, Angela Williams, Ted Nugent, Sting, Travis Barker, and Ozzy Osbourne! Thats just awesome! So my final score for Guitar Hero World Tour is 3.5X points out of 5.


Next game would be the Guitar Hero: Metallica game. I am pretty much a die hard Metallica fan so this game kind of caught my eye as being extremely enjoyable. But the game was missing some real classic Metallica songs. Only one song from the new CD also. But the game was very challenging since they are all Metallica songs which are ridiculously long songs that would gone for minutes and minutes at a time. I'm pretty sure there were no Metallica songs less than 5 minutes. But the guest songs were okay, songs like Ace of Spades and Stone Cold Crazy were fun to play. But not many good songs. But for me this game was great and I might have not received the double bass pedal with pre-order but that probably made the game even better. Guitar Hero: Metallica gets 4X points out of 5.


Last game is Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. This game had a lot of great songs to play. I mean its called Smash Hits. But it was very repetitive like the last Guitar Heroes. Same old songs and dance. Which I guess we are going to have to get used to. But they did feature some songs to play double bass pedal on other than Metallica songs from the last game. But its wasn't that bad of a story I guess for having a little one and it was fun playing songs that were from the old games turned into songs for the whole band. So for my final score Guitar Hero: Smash Hits gets 2.5X points out of 5.

RESIDENT EVIL 5: Where the F*** is LEON?!?!?

The return of Chris Redfield is finally upon us. When I say return I mean he couldn’t have been more of kicking zombies upside the head and splattering them to smithereens. But they’re actually humans that are infected humans by a disease called Uroboros. I feel like every “zombie” game I play is based on infections not just dead people coming back from the grave like in Michael Jackson’s Thriller video. You start off in Africa where you are sent in too rid the African villages of these weird cannibalistic murders. You go down there and of course you run into a new friend (and a good looking one if you don’t mind me saying) Sheva Alomar. She can really run some zombies for a good show. Now the storyline is very compelling and you gotta pay real close attention to the whole game to actually realize what is going on. Also if you have never played a Resident Evil game and you plan on starting to play this one, stop reading and beat yourself up because this game is for Resident Evil fans. Not Milla Jovavich fans!

What this game offers that brings much fun to our gamer tables is the Co-Operative action. You and one friend can team up and run around together to save the world. But luckily for one person they get to play as the punishing Chris Redfield. Well your other friend plays as the girl. Sorry Quaishon, but you will never be Chris! But back to the review at hand. The weapons are cool and the upgrade system is pretty sweet. I mean I had 50 bullets in my pistol clip once. Okay that’s cool but outrageously not realistic. The cut scenes are amazing so that makes the graphics also done very well. But to every up there has to be a down. When you aim, you cannot move, you just have to stop pull out your gun and shoot. That of course is the safest way to fight off seven infected dudes with machetes. But for some reason the closer they get the slower they walk. That doesn’t make sense to me, because if I want to chew on somebody’s sweet blood juices I would run as fast as I can. So it didn’t make sense but it did work if you had to stop every single time.


Also some creatures were completely ridiculous. The first half of the game is just humans who are infected with random weapons like blades and the occasional chainsaw. But when I am far into the game I came across for as I can say as part zombie and praying mantis. WTF? Is this creature and why am I fighting a giant bug? Other than the few other problems the last issue was the lack of characters. No Claire, Leon, Carlos, Ada and more. But for a game that they worked on for many years, this came out to be a great game. Definitely worth playing if you’re a fan of the series. I can see this game winning some awards later on in the year because it is that good. For a few minor problems but it was a solid game that is very enjoyable. So for my final rating for Resident Evil is 4.5X Points out of 5.
