RESIDENT EVIL 5: Where the F*** is LEON?!?!?

The return of Chris Redfield is finally upon us. When I say return I mean he couldn’t have been more of kicking zombies upside the head and splattering them to smithereens. But they’re actually humans that are infected humans by a disease called Uroboros. I feel like every “zombie” game I play is based on infections not just dead people coming back from the grave like in Michael Jackson’s Thriller video. You start off in Africa where you are sent in too rid the African villages of these weird cannibalistic murders. You go down there and of course you run into a new friend (and a good looking one if you don’t mind me saying) Sheva Alomar. She can really run some zombies for a good show. Now the storyline is very compelling and you gotta pay real close attention to the whole game to actually realize what is going on. Also if you have never played a Resident Evil game and you plan on starting to play this one, stop reading and beat yourself up because this game is for Resident Evil fans. Not Milla Jovavich fans!

What this game offers that brings much fun to our gamer tables is the Co-Operative action. You and one friend can team up and run around together to save the world. But luckily for one person they get to play as the punishing Chris Redfield. Well your other friend plays as the girl. Sorry Quaishon, but you will never be Chris! But back to the review at hand. The weapons are cool and the upgrade system is pretty sweet. I mean I had 50 bullets in my pistol clip once. Okay that’s cool but outrageously not realistic. The cut scenes are amazing so that makes the graphics also done very well. But to every up there has to be a down. When you aim, you cannot move, you just have to stop pull out your gun and shoot. That of course is the safest way to fight off seven infected dudes with machetes. But for some reason the closer they get the slower they walk. That doesn’t make sense to me, because if I want to chew on somebody’s sweet blood juices I would run as fast as I can. So it didn’t make sense but it did work if you had to stop every single time.

Also some creatures were completely ridiculous. The first half of the game is just humans who are infected with random weapons like blades and the occasional chainsaw. But when I am far into the game I came across for as I can say as part zombie and praying mantis. WTF? Is this creature and why am I fighting a giant bug? Other than the few other problems the last issue was the lack of characters. No Claire, Leon, Carlos, Ada and more. But for a game that they worked on for many years, this came out to be a great game. Definitely worth playing if you’re a fan of the series. I can see this game winning some awards later on in the year because it is that good. For a few minor problems but it was a solid game that is very enjoyable. So for my final rating for Resident Evil is 4.5X Points out of 5.

Street Fighter 4: The Return of Dan! Just great......

Let’s start off by saying “Dan? I mean really?” The game has few characters than the predecessors and they chose to bring back Dan? But that was the least of the games problems. The game has brought back the classic characters from the original series. Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun Li and more. Plus others like Fei Long, Rose, Cammy and of course Akuma. But there new characters I thought lacked a lot rather than the old characters. I thought Abel was okay but the other three especially Rufus were not needed. I rather they returned older characters like Dee Jay and Charlie. But new characters like Gouken were a good plus and Seth was an okay boss. A pain, but better than M. Bison every single game. But what the game really needed was a sick storyline that which could've made this game very good.

What the game did not feel like was a Street Fighter game. It felt like a new generation. That could probably be the whole point of the game but it wasn’t the same. The fighting had some classic moves like Chun Li’s rapid kick but it didn’t bring the classic fight feeling that I use to remember back playing my Super Nintendo and Playstation where the fights were better and actually more realistic. The whole artistic fighting thing was a whole new idea that I thought was not needed.

So what were the good parts of the game? The old characters and the classic venues that were changed to look newer were a plus. The prologues of each character was good telling somewhat of a story but even that left off information which left you still confused. So really all I could say is that this game had some good fighting in it and was a good try to bring the street fighting back to where it used to be. It did have good graphics and some new features that the old games didn’t have. Plus the online capability to fight people from all over the world was also pretty good. The game wasn't terrible. Also this was the first Street Fighter that was 3D and for the next gen consoles. So there is still a chance that there could be better. So hopefully the next installment there could be a improvement on the next game. So for my final rating Street Fighter 4 is 3.25X points out of 5.

Killzone 2: The best PS3 exclusive this year!

Before I bought this game I was wondering, am I not going to understand the game because I didn't play the first one. Well it really didn't matter because they explain that its a war and you are the hero who takes out all the red eyed helghast. You play as a character named Sev. You are joined with Garza and the others from the other games. This is the first game that you are actually not Templar who was the main character in Killzone and Killzone: Liberation. You start in a fight against the Helghast as soon as you land.

For the first time since PS3 came out, this game has actually perfected the use of the sixaxis. For setting bombs, turning wheels, pumping air and more. I was very happy to use sixaxis that was actually useful and entertaining. It kinda makes you feel like your in the game more. But really your sitting eating pizza rolls turning your controller to set a bomb. But thats what games are made for. This PS3 game so far is the best game for the system this year. Filled with warzone and blood and the enjoying things in life. I also enjoyed that the less movement you did would effect your screen as you set up for a long distance shot with you sniper. Few people didn't enjoy that but I thought it made it feel a little more realistic.

The game brought a really good first person shooter to the table. When I tried to think of anything bad about this game nothing came to mind. Maybe the dark environments or the slow pace sometimes but really this game was solid. I enjoyed it a little bit too much. For my final review I give this game 4X points out of 5X points. Go pick it up it came out this February for the PS3.
