Resident Evil: Degeneration..An Xtreme First!

This is the first Xtreme Gaming Zone Movie Review. Not only does this movie deal with video games. It practically is. The movie is called Resident Evil: Degeneration (Shown Left) and it takes place one year after the events of Resident Evil 4 and 7 years after the Raccoon City incident which left the city in rubble. So this movie isn't for someone who has no idea about the game history. I haven't played all of the games but I have enjoyed and beaten a couple. I have also seen and own all the Resident Evil movies even though they might not be as accurate, but I do get the idea of the game and movie in general.

A short history of the Resident Evil franchise is based on a virus called the T-Virus which can change human and infect them turning them into "Zombie" like creatures. Over the games you reveal all the history of the company responsible of making the virus, The Umbrella Cooperation. After thought of it all being destroyed the movie starts off with a company called the WilPharma agency which is trying find a cure for the known virus. But they don't know is that they actually doing testing on the known T-Virus and G-Virus. Claire Redfield arrives at Harvardville Airport and on the time of arrival she shortly encounters a zombie. Well not a real one, but but a zombie masked man trying to protest the WilPharma company and the Senator who supports it Ron Davis. But short after a security guard attempts to arrest another person but to find out that the other man was truly infected. Than after more attacks and panic a plane crashes into the airport where all the occupants were already zombified.

As Claire runs away with a young girl she meets in the beginning and Senator Ron Davis the airport is put on lock down by the United States Marine Corps and local law enforcement. As two soldiers of the Special Teams Response team (Angela Miller and Greg Glenn) are sent in with returning character from past Resident Evil games, Leon S. Kennedy. They clear the way and save survivors including Claire. Upon escape Claire learns that the WilPharma company that she was fighting against has created a T-Virus vaccine that could have cured those who have died. Suddenly when trucks containing the vaccine are destroyed and belief of help is shot down the movie takes a few twists and turns.

Im not going spoil the whole movie. You gotta go watch it yourself. This moving had amazing CG graphics, one of the best I have seen. The storyline was a little confusing how T-virus got onto a plane and into the airport, but I could have missed the point. But the way how it felt like I was watching a cut scene from one of the Resident Evil games made the movie worth watching. Now it wasn't originally released in America, it came out in Japan first where it was shown all over, not like how it was over in America. But it was appreciated at most. The one thing that I usually don't enjoy from movies who are originally release in Japan is the voice over work was still a little shotty for a CG movie. It had good choice in voice actors but sometimes there words did not fit there facial expressions. But other than than the game had good story, okay voice acting and amazing graphics. So the final rating I give Resident Evil: Degeneration I give this movie 3.75X points out of 5. Not only is this the first Resident Evil movie made purley of CG to appear in America but this also the first ever Xtreme Gaming Zone movie review. Now that is pretty Xtreme!
